What kind of industrial policy should the U.S. adopt in the post-free trade era?
This is the second of a two-part discussion with Marc Fasteau and Ian Fletcher, authors of the new book Industrial Policy for the United States: Winning the Competition for Good Jobs and High-Value Industries. They argue that the U.S. needs to abandon the free-trade stance it has taken since World War II, in line with the modern-day (and historical) realities of global trade relations.
